Two parallel story lines that follow what happens after two different outcomes of a simple incident. Gwyneth Paltrow goes down two different versions of her life and two variations on a love story. In one, after she gets sacked from her job, she gets on an underground train and arrives home early to find her boyfriend (John Lynch) in bed with another woman (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and in the other she misses the train, gets mugged and gets home but does not realise her boyfriend is having an affair. She is supported by her friend (Zara Turner) and gets involved in a romantic relationship with John Hannah who has a good set of monty Python quotes through the film. This is an interesting story device that is well executed with good performances from Gwyneth Paltrow (as both versions of her character), Jeanne Tripplehorn (as the feisty other woman) and John Hannah (as the charming lover).
