William Shakespeare (Joseph Finnes) is struggling to write his next play when he falls in love with an aristocratic woman (Gwyneth Paltrow) who is due to be married to a Lord (Colin Firth) . She wants to be an actor and pretends to be a man to act in his play. Ths is an entertaining love story set around Shakespeare's London (or at least Hollywood's version of it) with a wonderfully comic script from Tom Stoppard. Ignore the historical inaccuracy and enjoy the love story, whilst playing spot the quote. There are good performances from Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Finnes and also some good performances from the strong supporting cast. The script was written by Tom Stoppard.
