A man (Buster Keaton) is in love with a woman (Ruth Dwyer) but has not proposed. Then is discovers that he will inherit a fortune if he marries that day. He messes up his proposal and so has to find someone else to marry. There plenty of fun ways in which his proposal to different women are rejected, but the highlight is the final third of the film as he is chased by a whole gaggle of would be brides.
