An American scientist (Bill Pullman) is sent to Haiti to investigate the source of a powder that turns people into zombies and is helped by a doctor (Cathy Tyson), but comes across those who want to stop him. The plot is confused and unexplained, but it is visually impressive as you would expect for a Wes Craven film. It mixes vodoo, zombies, horror and violence, so is not for everyone. The problem is the casting of Bill Pullman who is just not convincing in the lead role.
