Maggie Gyllenhaal gets a job, after a stay in a mental hospital, as a secretary to lawyer James Spader. They both have emotional probelms and their relationship goes from business to a strange sexual relationship. Maggie Gyllenhaal gives a good performance a girl coming to terms with her emotional and psychological problems, though the film is notorious for its adult sexual themes.
