The son (Buster Keaton) of a wealthy business man wants to marry his adopted sister but his father insists he get a job meanwhile his brother in-law is scheming to financially ruin the family and keep his illegitimate daughter a secret. This was Buster Keaton's first leading role in a feature film and made him an acting star. He plays the character in his typical deadpan style and mostly without his usual physical comedy. However the scene in the stck exchange where he saves the day without knowing what he is doing is entertaining.
