When Nigeria was part of the British Empire a District Commisioner (Leslie Banks) tries to keep the peace between the various tribes within his juristriction, helped by the chief of one of the tribes (Paul Robeson). Today this suffers from the sterotypes and predjudice of the period. Paul Robeson gives a solid performance and also sings a couple of songs.
