A writer (David Soul) visits a small town to investigate some suspicious deaths from the past and uncovers a vampire killing off the towns people. This is a good version of the Stephen King novel that plays out the horror and suspense. There is a good performance from David Soul and also a suitably creepy one from James Mason.
