In a totalitarian state in the near future, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a policeman who is wrongly convicted of mass murder and is persuaded to take part in a game show, which if he survives the show, he will be pardoned. Instead of being killed by the stalkers, he kills them and then teams up with with a group of rebels who broadcast the truth. This is more Arnold Schwarzenegger in an action role rather than social comment. The film is based on the novel by Stephen King.
