Tom Cruise is a high school student about to go on to a top university spends the night with a prostitute (Rebecca De Mornay) whilst his parents are away and his life spirals out of control. After driving his dads car into a lake he ends up hosting a party between his friends and her colleagues. This could have been tacky, but balances a well brought up teenagers pull between responsibility and lust for an attractive girl.
