An American lawyer meets a Chinese girl on a business trip, and wakes the next morning to find she is dead and he is arrested for her murder. The film revolves around Richard Gere as he pleads his innocence in court. As his defence lawyer starts to believe him, she challenges the corruption that had framed Richard Gere for the murder.
