A woman (Ida Lupino) arrives in a small town to live with her aunt (Esther Howard) but upsets the locals when the paper implies that she hda an affair with a dead man from the town. The owmen of the town get upset with her and end up dunking her using an old ducking stool that brings good publicity for her but bad for the town. During all this she develops a relationship with the local newspaper reporter (Richard Arlen).Whilst the plot is not the greatest, there is an entertaining performance from Ida Lupino.
