A group of archeologists discover cave paintings that indicate that the origins of human life came from a remote planet in space. A space ship with a small crew are sent to investigate. However when they get there it is not what they expect and the differnt motives of the crew (science, faith, money and life) start to come out. This was Ridley Scott's return to Sci-Fi films and is well filmed with some good graphics and effects, however it suffers from a poor plot that is confused and has no focus. This is not a bad film, but it is one of those that could and should have been better. Noomi Rapace gives a good performance, but Charlize Theron is hardly on screen and gives a very flat performance.
