A former sheriff with a drink problem is offered the opportunity to stay out of jail by taking three rejected mail order brides back to the nearest train station. Whilst beng chased by the husbands he also picks up a gambler who is being chased by her husband. The surprise strength of this film is the four female characters who find themselves despite their abusive history.
