Doris Day and Rock Hudson are a couple who argue over sharing a telephone line and end up falling in love when one of them does does not realise who the other is. The plot trick and split screen filiming may seem dated but was quite new for the time. The film still shows some excellent comic moments with great performances from both Doris Day and Rock Hudson as they banter on the telephone. There is also a level of sexuality in the film that was quite daring for the time. Unusually for a rom-com it was Oscar nominated for the screenplay.
