Eleven years after a young man's suicide a man reappears claiming to be be the dead man and therefore entitled to the family inheritance. Whilst it is clear early on that it is a scam, the film revolves around the characters. There is a good performance from Janette Scott as the daughter who believers her brother is not dead and especially from Oliver Reed as the man who is increasingly apparent as a deranged maniac. Hammer produced a suitably dark and psychological thriller.
