A family move to a new house in a smal town and their tomboy daughter falls in love with the boy over the road. However she needs to become more like a girl and the boy is not popular with the father as he has very different views on life and marriage. This is a pleasant musical romantic comedy, even though Dorris Day and her two suitors are the wrong age for the characters they play. Doris Day is her usual perky charm, but it is Billy Gray as the obnoxious little brother and Mary Wickes as the maid with the aserbic wit.
