In Victorian Britain two poor aristocratic gentlemen are attempting to court two rich ladies. Because of their financial differences the men think they have no chance, but then one of the women suggests that they go away to her remote island for a trial relationship. By a series of mis-adventures the four of them end up staying alone on the island and they start to find out more about themselves and each other. This is a great romantic comedy that is witty and has funny banter between the characters. There are very good performances from Beatrice Lille and particularly Googie Withers who plays her character well mixing elegance, charm and a slightly wicked sense of humour. A wonderfull piece of escapism made towards the end of World War 2.
