A war of biological agents wipes out virtually all mankind. Charlton Heston is a scientist searching for a cure, as vaccinated and is apparently immune. He battles against a surviving group of people who call themselves The Family who can only go about in the dark with the help of a few other survivors. This is not the best post-apocalyptic film not least because it suffers from early 1970's production syle. The film is based on the novel I Am A Legend by Richard Matheso.
