A rural Ukrainian village enjoying life under Soviet rule is attacked and occupied by the Germans during World War 2. This is a curious pro-soviet film made during WW2, with the first half showing happy villagers singing their way through life under the soviet system and then the second half is how they try and survive under German occupation. Today this really nothing more than an historical curiosity, despite a very strong cast.
