A sailor (Dennis Hopper) meets a mysterious woman (Linda Lawson) who plays a mermaid in a seaside sideshow but he gradually starts to think there is something more sinister about her and she may actually be a mermaid. Dennis Hopper gives a good performance in this his first leading role and is well supported by Linda Lawson as the mermaid and Luana Anders as the woman warning him against her. The film is suiably atmospheric that is enhanced by a good sound track.
