Paul Le Mat works for a company drilling for oil in the arctic, however their explosions are in danger of destroying Santa's city at the north pole. So Santa sends his chief elf to bring bring his wife (Jaclyn Smith) and her children to the north pole to ask her to persuade him to drill elsewhere. This is a typical Christmas film with a technological explanation for how Santa delivers the presents rather than a magical explanation.
