After their friend disappears two teachers (Joyce Howard and TUcker McGuire) visit the Yorkshire moors to find out what happened and end up taking refuge in a lonely house, but the reclusive pianist (James Mason) living there may not be what he seems. There are good performance from James Mason as the shell shcked man who might be mad or a murderer and Joyce Howard as the innocent woman falling in love with him. There is also good support from Mary Clare and Wilfred Lawson as the housekeepers. The film is suitably moody and atmospheric.
