Three children at a boarding school develop feelings for each other but at the same time have to come to terms with what they have been bred to become. They have been bred as live organ donors in a bleak parallel version of 1980's Britain, a situation that they accept apparently without question. This is an engrossing mix of sci-fi and teen romance with good performances from both the child and the adult members of the cast, particularly from Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield. It is well filmed with a sense of dark brooding and yet with an innocence as well.
