A prostitute in Paris becomes a stage star, falls in love with a soldier but they are prevented from marrying by his elder brother and then she becomes mistress to the elder brother with tragic consequences. Samuel Goldwyn put this film together as a vehicle for his new protege Anna Sten who he was grooming as a new Greta Garbo. It had a lot of hype but did not do well at the box office. Whilst Anna Sten is good in the film, the the film itself is not good as the story does not really flow well.
