In the lead up to World War 2, a group of international agents want to start an incident between Britain and France over the Suez canal in order to precipitate the war. Peter Lorre as the Japanese Mr Moto is sent to stop them. Given the quality of the cast, this is disappointing as the plot is not great and the scenes do not flow well together. Peter Lorre is not really convincing as Mr Moto, but Virginia Field injects some elegance as the woman with a murky past but now is caught up in something that she out of her depth in.
