An aircraft engineer (John Mills) does not want his daiughter (Eileen Moore) to marry the foreign man (Herbert Lom) she wants to as he has a murky past, so he confronts the man and accidentally kills him. He disposes of the body and presumes it will be found, but when it is not he starts to investigate with unfortunate consequences. This is a good well constructed British drama of the consequenses of not being honest and not letting things lie when there is no need to disturb them. John Mills MIlls is good as the tourmented man getting trapped by the result of trying to defend his daughter and there is good support from Phyllis Calvert as his wife.
