A woman (Clara Kimball Young) makes her money running a gabling club, until it is outlawed and she invests in the stock market. When the market crashes, she loses everything and returns to running the gambling club. Meanwhile her son (Bruce Kimball Warren) climbs the social ladder, not knowng his mothers background. Eventually their two worlds clash when the son meets a woman (Mildred Golden) whose father made his money on the stock market.
