In order to support his invalid wife a man marries and then kills wealthy women, but the family of one of the women are suspicious and a policeman is on his trail. This is one of CHaplin's later sound films and has a character quite different to his earlier silent films. The comedy is variable but there is a good scene where he tries to kill one of his wives on small rowing boat.
