Comment
A strange mist comes down on a supermarket in a small town, with the people inside being trapped by creatures lurking in the mist. Whilst in some ways the characters are the typical characters in a disaster movie, these are better than in most horror films. There are good performances from Thomas Jane and Laurie Holden as the sensible pair leading the fight back aided by Toby Jones as a store employee and Marcia Gay Harden as the religious fanatic. This is a good blend of philosophy, morality, suspense and old fashioned monster horror, that is much better than most modern horror films, not least because of the strength of the underlying Stephen King novel. .
