A Martian (Holman Clark) is sent from Mars to earth to redeem the worlds most selfish man (Charles Hawtrey) . Although this is reputed to be the first full length British Sci-Fi film it is esentially the plot of a Christmas Carol, and has the feel of a victorain morality tale. The BFI recently restored the film to a high standard including the original tints. Whilst not a great film it is an interesting piece of early British cinema and of interest in its depiction of life in Britain at the begining of the 20th century.
