A reporter is given the job of writing a piece about a marriage bureau and the film follows the stories of a disparate group of London residents looking for love and marriage with different backgrounds and expectations. Some find marriage, some do not and some inexplicably turn the offer down. Some of the stories have drama and some are comic which leads to an uneven feel to the film.
