A Spanish aristocrat (Tyrone Power) returns to his home in California where he finds the local population being exploited. He pretends to be an ineffective fop to get in with the ruling family and attractive daughter (Linda Darnell) whilst at the same time fighting back as the Masked Zoro. Good version of th story with a good sword fight between Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone that is arguably one of the better sword fights put on film. In some ways this is play of the RObin Hood Story from earlier in Basil Rathbone's career.
