In 18th century Austria an apprentice witch hunter (Udo Kier) begins to question the motives of the church in looking for witches and starts to doubt the ethics of his witch finder mentor (Herbert Lom). This is a bloody, violent, gory and unpleast film of cruelty and torture that has become something of a cult.
