On a visit to the British Museum a young boy sees a Wedgewood vase and so begins a lifelong quest to find a green vase. This has a curius plot that revolves around Peter Finch's quest for the vase against a background of 1950's British domesticity where his wife (Rosalie Crutchley) looks after the children and runs the home whilst being ignored by her husband. Meanwhile there is an auction scam and an attractive woman (Adrienne Corri) who is in possesion of the vase. The washed out colours give a strange feel to the film. Adrienne Corri gives the best performance as the not so innocent young woman.
