In 1940's Texas as a town strikes oil, a woman (Jane Wyman) arrives and opens up a ddepartment store to help the wives spend their new found wealth. She builds her business but at the expense of her love life and a rancher (Charlton Heston) who wants her to marry him and give up her business. An insight into the oil boom and an independent business woman, but not great performances from either Jane Wyman or Charlton Heston.
