A music journalist (Toni Collette) in need of a big story is assigned to find out what happened to a musician that disappeared years before and who most people think is dead. It is complicated by the fact that he is her ex-boyfriend. Her investigation is aided by a young musician (Thomas Hayden Church) and an older rich playboy (Ryan Eggold). This is supposed to be a voyage of self discovery, although in the end it is not really clear what she has discovered about herself, particularly as she is not a particularly pleasant character, who drinks constantly and sleeps with every man she meets. Toni Collette gives a good performance even though the film is overall slightly disappointing. .
