An explorer who claims to have found living dinosaurs on a high plateau in a remote part of the amazon jungle organises an expedition to prove his calims true. He takes a hunter, a reporter and the daughter of another explorer who has gone missing. They find the plateau, the dinoosaurs and have a series of adventures. This is the first adaptation of the novel by Arthur Conan Doyle and for the time it was made the monsters are impressive. They were produced using stop motion technique. It is also the first time monster are unleashed in a city causing havoc and destruction. View it from the perspective of someone from 1925 seeing it for the first time to appreciate the quality and impact of the film.
