A single woman (Vera Ellen) from rural America inherits some money from her grandfather and decides to visit her roots in Scotland and on her travels meets an American (Tony Martin) and a Scottish Lord (Robert Flemyng) who are both after her affections for different reasons. This is a lacklustre musical that was the last screen appearances for both Vera Ellen and Tony Martin. The plot is thin, the musical numbers forgettable and not even Vrea Ellen in some technicolor outfits brings inspiration to this flm. It highlights that Vera Ellen was more of a dancer than an actor and Tony Martin more a singer than actor.
