The publicity agent (Dennis O'Keefe) of a night club singer (Jean Brooks) gets her to arrive with a tame leopard, but her rival (Margo) frightens the animal and it escapes. Several people are attacked and killed, but is it the escaped leopard or is there a killer on the loose. This is a well paced horror/thriller that builds tension by what you do not see as much as what is on screen. The combination of the direction from Jacques Tourneur and the production of Vel Lewton coupled with some good cinematography makes this a good film.
