George Chakiris is a Mayamn king who leads his people away from another attacking people by taking them over the sea to the north American coast. Here they meet Yul brynner who is the leader of a tribe of native Americans. The two men fight each other and both fall in love with Shirley Anne Field. The plot is not great and it is overly long and slow, but Yul Brynner gives a good performance in this film about a clash of cultures.
