A shop girl who has taken a fancy to the sone of the owner contrives to get his friend to take her out to dinner in the same restaurant as he is taking his girlfriend. There follows a whole series comic misunderstandings and romantic and dramatic interactions. The plot is a typical poor girl / rich man romantic comedy that has been used many times since. What makes this film stand out is the performance of Clara Bow whose charm, charisma and sex appeal run through the film. This film firmly established Clara Bow as the "It" girl of the 1920's. The story moves with pace and the photography is better than most films of the time, with plenty of creative shots and editing.
