A prize fighter and a rich socialite meet and marry after her father buys half of his contract. Their relationship has its ups and downs as he has a single minded ambition to become champion. This is basically a love story set against a background of boxing. Irene Dunne is good as the wife and mother, bringing passion and elegance, but Fred MacMurray is fine in the scenes as her lover, though he is not convincing as a boxer. This leaves the impression that the film could have been better.
