Jeremy Northam is an English Lord who is blackmailed by his former lover (Julianne Moore) to try an get parliamentary approval for a dubious investment scheme in South America. Cate Blanchett is his wife, Minnie Driver his daughter and Rupert Everett his friend. Despite the good cast, this is a somewhat lacklustre version of Oscar Wild's comedy.
