During the cold war, Sean Connery is the captain of a new, almost silent, Russian submarine who decides to defect to American. Alec Baldwin is the academic ex-marine who is given the task of finding him. This is a good combination of action and thriller and is a well produced film from John McTiernan of the Tom Clancey novel of cold war antics in submarines which captures the feel and suspense of the book.
