A writer (Alex Nicol) staying across the lake from a large house, is tempted into a relationship with the beautiful married lady (Hilary Brooke) of the house who has an estranged relationship with her husband (Sidney James). She has more sinister plans in mind than just the usual love triangle. The plot is nothing original, in this British film from Hammer which is their version of film noir.
