An Eglish anthrapologist working in China discovers a petrified body in the frozen wastes. As he starts to transport it by train across China and Russia, people start dying and it becomes apparent the body contains an alien life form. This is a typical monster confined in a small area killing people off one by one. There are typically good performances from Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, plus a nice supporting role from Telly Savalas as a Cossack policeman.
