A woman and her daughter escape an abusive marriage by faking their deaths in a boating accident and starts a new life in California. Ten years later he discovers a box in the attic that suggests she is alive and not dead, so he sets out to find her and exact revenge. This is a made for television version of a plot that has been used before (and better - Sleeping With The Enemy). There are all sorts of problems with the plot and inconsistent actions by the characters.
