A young prostitute (Helen Twelevetrees) working in a waterfront bar is used and abused by her boyfriend/pimp (Ricardo Cortez). She dreams of escaping this life and hope appears in the form of a kind sailor (Philips Holms). This a well filmed piece that mixes the comedy and romance against the darker side of a waterfront bar. There is a good performance from Helen Twelevetrees and a suitably sinister performance from Ricardo Cortez. This is definately a pre-code film with its themes.
