When the skipper of a whaling ship is lost overboard, his daughter (Joan Tetzel) teams up with a sailor (Alan Ladd) to find out the truth about his death. Her ex-fiance (Stanley Baker) and son of the owner is the prime suspect for his murder. This is a good adaptation of the nove by Hammond Innesl set against a whaling background.
